In the range of a large project of publishing Portuguese Contemporary Architecture, the Guide Book for Modern Architecture in Portugal, unbelievably inexistent until today, gathers in a synthesis the best production, in national territory, accomplished since the 20's until nowadays.
This Guide is directed to a vast public and aims to point out, through a carefully chronologic organization, the vicissitudes of architecture while formal expression of a social, economic and cultural condition. Luís Ferreira Alves and João Ferrand photography's, complemented by the specific location of each work and by the descriptive and graphic records, allow the possibility to organize recognition and study circuits for Portuguese Contemporary Architecture.
An introduction text proposes in a short way the interpretation of periods and variation which characterize the Portuguese Contemporary Architecture.
